In the dark turning, the light begins…

The energy and effort that one spends avoiding the answers can be exhausting and debilitating, much more so than actually accepting things as they are. There may be pain or revelation but in doing the work one is productive. You get through the pain faster, easier and less damaged.

You can discover your truths and then work out what to do with them. There is no need to be hasty. Just sit with things for a bit and see how it feels. You don’t have to rush into anything.

Do the things that bring you satisfaction and joy. Do the things to nurture yourself. Do the things that feel right to yourself, not the things that ‘ought, could, should’ be right. You’ll know the difference. Real truths have a bell-like clarity. Imposed ones have a leaden weight.

Remember to love yourself. You’re you, unique, individual, complex and beautifully you. You always will be. We all have our twists and turns and flaws, but that’s where our true beauty lies. Much like something crafted from wood or glass it is the changes in hue and texture that make us interesting, fascinating and desirable. Objects that are perfect are also somewhat flat and dead.

You are okay. I am okay. They are okay too. It doesn’t mean that every decision or action is the right one at the right time. We make mistakes, we get things wrong.

I suppose that what I’m saying is that as long as we take responsibility for what we each do, communicate in a non-blameful way, act with honour and integrity, then we have done as much as we can.
